The vintage barns that line so many of the hillsides of Vermont are some of my favorite architectural elements of the New England landscape. They are almost like lighthouses of the land in many ways, structures that stand through wind and rain and serve as an important tool within our lives as well.
This one is simple and beautiful and and certainly situated one some of the finest land in the area atop the hills of Woodstock.
It’s the time of the year where it feels like summer flew by, and from the looks of things in Vermont just a few days ago, fall is here. The colors descend upon the Vermont landscape a bit sooner than elsewhere in New England with the cooler temperatures around the Green Mountain landscape, and this barn and birch tree sure had it all for an early autumn landscape scene. It’s one of my favorite times of the year within the landscape, and catching the scenery while still vibrant but changing at the same time is one of my favorite times for making pictures around here.
