Summer mornings in New England have a special quality of light to them especially with the warm days of summertime. I was out exploring a few days ago and came upon this scene of stark contrast between the rising sun and layers of cloud inversions within the valley’s of Vermont. The contrast between the darkness and light was striking and provided a summer scene filled with mood and attitude.
2020 has probably been the strangest and craziest feeling year that most of us have ever lived through. It’s scary, uncertain, dangerous, and has a sense of unknowingness that is almost impossible to draw parallels to. As much as I want to return to the hustle/bustle of doing hundreds of creative shoots a year like usual, it’s instead been a lot more reflecting and refreshing past work which has been fun in it’s own way.
In giving this blog space a refresh I hope to make it a place where I can talk and reflect upon singular images and offer some storytelling and thoughts on the processes I go through in finding and creating images with an impact.
Metaphorically the moment feels like an unpredictable storm, one in which we know will pass over eventually but it’s hard to know when. I have great hope that like this picture below, someday the current storm will clean and we will find sunny days ahead.
