Notch Light

I usually have more fun wandering than overly planning for shoots, and when magical light happens it’s something really special and makes for moments that I forever treasure. This one was just a magnificent scene as a summertime storm rolled through Pinkham Notch with blasting afternoon sunlight making for a silhouetted evergreen landscape within one of New England’s finest alpine areas. It’s a print I will always love.

Foliage Tracks

The fall colors are an obviously popular part of the New England landscape, and while theres so much hype and they bring in all the tourists, i’ll always admit that it sure is a beautiful time of the years. This is a view from above within the historic Crawford Notch area which is a stretch of some of the most rugged terrain in the Northeast and these tracks used to do the brunt of the passenger transit back when the grand hotels ruled the area in a much different era than now.
